Tullibee...or not Tullibee...

What a silly question! With leech lake water temps in the lower 40's it's all about the ciscoe spawn. Here is a plump pike and a plump-er muskellunge that hit on a figure-eighted crankbait.

throw 'em a dead ringer.

I also lost a really big one trying to net it.

Real men also cry. Real men also cry.

Chunky Town-Leech Lake Pike

Cooling water means bigmeanfish time. Muskies, walleyes, bass and pike are packing it on now.

This pike fell to a magnum bulldawg. Think these baits look too big? Think again, walleyes eat them too!

Won't you take me to...

12/29/12 Northern Minnesota Crappies- Leech Lake

What's black and white and bends my rod over?

I got out with my friend Brian on another local lake inteding to C.P.R. some big Crappies. We had a tough time at first hole hopping the rim of a huge basin. At lunch time we decided to try next to our first two holes and it was game on. We set up his big hub shelter, had a brat and reeled in two dozen slabs with half being between 12" and 14-1/2". I love lake hoppin'.

                                                       Happy new year everyone!
