Five things to do at Leech Lake this summer

#1 Catch a Muskie

Indeed the ultimate freshwater challenge and there may be no better place to consistently catch 45"-50" fish in Minnesota.

#2 Get a Growler

Visit Leech Lake Brewing Company's off the beaten path brewery, sample their varieties and take home a few growlers. Don't forget to pick one up for #4 on my list.

#3 Walleye Fish with Artificial Lures

Trolling the basins and shorelines can be really effective for 18"-27" Walleyes and is great for spending time with family and friends.  Pitching jig/plastic combos or plugs to windswept shorelines can be deadly for Walleyes too from May through October.

#4 Have a Boil

Invasive and delicious Rusty Crayfish carpet the lake bottom in certain areas and are perfect for a summertime outdoor meal.

#5 Eat Pizza

It is a toss-up between Benson's Emporium or the Village Square so it's best to sample both.

Cheers and hook-sets!
